yeah it was a stinger rig with a small blue & white teaser on it ... we were on allowed to use the boat rig which consist of double hooks and 20 line

That SUCKS!! What were the regulations that didn't let you use your rig? Was it a stinger rig?

Well we almost started off late due to some 's ladies not arriving at proper time 6 am crying they were stuck at the bridge waiting for it to come down. That got me :ouch: ... SO I took a beer and then maybe another or three and it was all better we then waited for the bimini start and off we went to the steeple. I knew once we got there I had a good feeling looking out onto the water it was calm had some current and there was a nice breeze but before I even threw out my line I was advised that my secret rig was not allowed so I was really OK strike 2 I get one of the mates to rig me up with one of the boat rigs and I'll be on my way So finally I get to wet a line after 30 mins still trying to be optimistic about everthing that just happened in the past few mins. I let out about 130 ft line and I here ZZZZZZZZZZZZ snap Strike 3 line was cut off I realized that it was just going to be one of those days were nothing was going to go right from begining to end. About 2 pm I decide to give in and fish my way I graceously congratulated the winner ( advised the coordinator ) in which she caught an african pompano #20.5 beauty of a fish not really beauty but silvery
I went to the deck set my rig my way and away I went on my own. I was letting out line with the secret rig and there it went zzzzzzzzzz FINALLLY fish on I was just laughing my aZZZ off cause I was just amazed it could only happen to me Phil the mate gaffed a beauty #15 king fish I would of taken 2nd place but such is life on to next yr

I'll be fishing the Ladies Fish Off this weekend on the Helen S hopefully with better results than the rodeo :fishy:
